GET TO KNOW ME

I am a BACP registered relational integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. I hold an MA in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy from University of Roehampton. I adhere to the BACP Ethical Standards.

I believe there are many therapeutic approaches to support people with their difficulties, with the right way depending on the person, and their situation at that point in time.

I draw upon a range of different therapeutic approaches within my practice:

  • Humanistic - which aims to increase self-awareness, seeking to support you in identifying and overcoming any blocks you may be experiencing;

  • Psychodynamic - seeking to understand how your present feelings and actions are influenced through past experiences and the unconscious mind;

  • Cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) - which explores how your thoughts and beliefs may impact upon your current feelings and actions, striving to develop coping strategies and change negative thinking patterns.

I feel passionate in offering each client a bespoke and creative approach to therapy, to celebrate the uniqueness of individual experience and diversity.

As a counsellor I have extensive experience of working within the NHS covering a wide range of short-term support needs. I have also worked within a specialist bereavement service for the last 2 years.

Prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked in both the statutory and charity sectors, supporting both adults and children who have found themselves experiencing crisis and trauma; spending a number of years working as a qualified Advocate (OCNLR Level 3). I have particular knowledge and experience of those impacted by the criminal justice system and domestic abuse.

If you have any questions regarding my counselling and psychotherapy services, please get in touch with me so we can talk about it.
